Parvati Pass Trek

Parvati Pass Trek

15 June 2026

· Flypanchachuli

There is a moment on the Pin Parvati Pass trek where your brain experiences complete sensory whiplash.

For five days, you walk through the Parvati Valley—a place of overwhelming green. The air is thick with the scent of pine, moss, and wet earth. Massive waterfalls plunge from cliffs so high they look like they are falling from the sky. Then, you cross a razor-sharp saddle of ice at 5,319 meters (17,450 ft) and step directly into the Pin Valley of Spiti. Instantly, the color drops out of the world. The trees vanish. The air turns brutally dry, and you are staring at a Martian landscape of barren, violet-and-ochre mountains.

It feels like you didn’t just cross a pass; you crossed into a different dimension.

Connecting Kullu’s rain-soaked forests with Spiti’s high-altitude cold desert, the Pin Parvati Pass is widely considered one of the most demanding, volatile, and spectacularly beautiful trans-Himalayan crossovers in India.
